How are dues set?
You can set your dues to be event based. Just pay per shift. Currently around $5 per shift.
You can also do monthly dues Currently around $65 per month.
Rule of thumb here, as its your choice: if your availability is wide open and you figure your working at least 13 shifts a month. We recommend choosing monthly. If it's a more limited availability and you probably won't work 13 shifts choose event based.
You can Currently change this once a year.
How to change dues from monthly/per shift and vice versa?
Reach out to an organizer, or stop by the union office to fill out a form. Can only be done once per year, but we are working with the Local to change this.
Or contact Jackie Hope for dues related questions. Contact info here.
What is my seniority status?
Venue Questions
How do I call in sick/use Safe Sick Time
- Release you shift on Hot Schedules. Put a note that you are sick and won't be in that day.
- Send a note with that same information to the managers on hotschedules.
- Though management says safe and sick time will automatically be used, we recommend if using it, say so in the notes you send on hotschedules.
- Send the same note via email to
- Humanresources@first-avenue.com

Requesting Time Off Due to Illness, Injury, or an Emergency:
If you are unable to work because of an illness, injury, or emergency, follow these steps:
Notify the manager on duty and/or Human Resources through HotSchedules.
Provide notice at least 4 hours before your shift, whenever possible.
If 4 hours' notice is not possible, notify the Company as soon as practicable, typically within 24 hours.
Your absence will be reviewed to determine whether it qualifies as Protected Leave.
Absences protected by law or Company policy will be administered in accordance with the applicable law or policy.
If you do not have available ESST or other protected leave:
A timely reported illness or injury will be recorded as a Reported Illness.
Human Resources may review attendance patterns and determine whether leave, a workplace accommodation, medical documentation (when permitted by law), or other attendance management measures are appropriate.
If you have available ESST and timely report your absence:
Your available ESST will be applied automatically to the absence.
If you do not want to use available ESST:
Notify Human Resources within three (3) calendar days of the absence that you do not want ESST applied.
HR will review the circumstances and determine how the absence will be handled under the attendance policy.
Important Reminder
No action is required if you want to use available ESST. It will be applied automatically when you timely report a qualifying absence.
You must contact Human Resources within three (3) calendar days if you wish to decline the use of available ESST.
